The restaurant "A Grelha" invites you to attend the event to savor this delicacy in the Universal Capital of Chanfana.
We would like to remind you that our restaurant was awarded in the years 2008, 2010, 2013, 2014, and 2016 as the winner by the Confraria da Chanfana in the presence of the presidents of CCDRC, Turismo Centro, and the City Hall. They had the opportunity to enjoy one of the most extraordinary dishes of Portuguese gastronomy, which is Chanfana.
In the Central region of the country, more precisely in Vila Nova de Poiares in the Coimbra district, you will find the restaurant "A Grelha."
Since the beginning, our concern has been to serve our customers a truly regional cuisine prepared in a traditional way.
We focus on the quality of products and their preparation so that those who visit us can taste and appreciate the best that our region has to offer in terms of gastronomy. Our specialties include Chanfana and negalhos, among others.
However, we are not only known for regional specialties; we also offer traditional Portuguese cuisine, such as grilled cod, octopus à lagareiro, and much more.
The first thing you'll notice when you visit us is our homemade bread and broa baked in a traditional wood-fired oven.
Our facilities have been renovated since April 2011, with extensive reconstruction work.
We now offer our customers a new, modern, and welcoming space where we can continue to offer what we do best—our dishes and hospitality.

The Chanfana Week of Vila Nova de Poiares returns from January 9 to 18, celebrating one of the most emblematic dishes of the local gastronomy.
This initiative, now in its 19th edition, is promoted by the Chanfana Confraternity and stands as one of the most important gastronomic events in the municipality.
Over the course of ten days, the traditional chanfana will be served, prepared according to recipes and methods that make this dish a true symbol of Poiares’ identity.
The official presentation of this edition is scheduled for January 6 at 6:00 p.m., at the headquarters of the Chanfana Confraternity in Vale de Vaz.
The occasion will also be used to announce the new developments planned for 2026, the year in which the Confraternity marks 25 years of activity dedicated to the promotion and preservation of this gastronomic heritage.
The presentation conference will include the presence of several official entities and the godparents of Chanfana Week, Gonçalo Henriques and Camila Rebelo, reinforcing the cultural and touristic importance of the event.
