Fishing tourism is new concept that unites Activity Fishing and Tourism Branch in Terceira
The Fishermen\'s Wives Association of Shipowners and the Terceira Island (São Mateus da Calheta), with an innovative project with the support of the Regional Government, made it possible to attract people who have never lived or want to renew experiences at sea.
The package-Fishing Guide, available between the months of May and October, includes a reception at the headquarters of the association, followed by a guided tour of the Port of Fisheries and the museum site that exists there. The following is an explanation of the history of fishing in the locality, the types of existing vessels, fishing gear to use in the outlet to the sea and species susceptible to capture.
Already on board, the fishermen will \"teach\" their art to tourists, if they so wish, can try and put these teachings into practice.
Thus tourism as unique, those who wish to embark on Fishing-tourism will have to pay between 70 euros, which entitle them to a meal on board and two pounds or one pound of fish that may enjoy a meal that is included in the restaurant located on the edge stick March
The project was innovative at the regional level, allowing participants to \"direct contact with the Artisanal Fisheries, the daily living of the people of the land and how they relate to the rest of the world\" and also boost the restoration of St. Matthew and Craft of Calheta.
